Any other South Park fans in this class? I imagine there probably are, considering South Park is one of the longest running cartoons on television right now. Personally, I love everything about the show. I love that the creators are not afraid to call it like they see it in terms of making fun of celebrities and current events.
Many may say the creators of South Park are insensitive. Obviously, the creators of the show go all out in their attempts to rip on everything and anything. Because of television and the Internet, millions of people are able to watch South Park. My question is this: Should there be a line that separates what the creators of the show can and cannot do? Should they be allowed to call Tom Cruise gay, Kanye West a "gayfish", and Michael Jackson a "little white girl" and get away with it?
I personally think the creators of the show are some of the most down-to-earth people I can think of, even considering their crazy show. Whenever they rip on a celebrity or a current event, I can honestly say that I agree with them 99% of the time (excluding Cartman being racist, of course).
Attached is a clip from a new episode of the show, but I must warn you, it is uncensored and may be too much to handle for those with profanity sensitivity issues. It is just an example of how South Park is not afraid of lawsuits when it comes to making fun of celebrities.

I am not a religous South Park watcher, but the few episodes I have seen are hilarious. I admire the creators for being as bold and blunt as they are. They simply say what everyone else is thinking and is too afraid to say.
I am a fan of the show, and I have to say, I find it refreshing to see that not everyone is worried about offending others. Yes, I think it's wrong to simply criticize people, but people need to be able to laugh at themselves and take a joke.
i like it because i think it does totally cross the line
i dont want the same old blah blah safe stuff
i want something edgy
i love south park
South park would not be south park if they didn't cross the line.
Mehl is completely correct. The entire notion of the show is founded upon crossing the line. It's first shows were founded upon vulgarity and fighting the FCC on censorship. I wouldn't argue towards south park crossing the line. But I would comment on the fact that over the years it's moved it's plot-line to be extremely political (not every episode mind you) and a lot of south park fans talk about how they miss how obscenely random the show used to be. for instance first episode with Kyle punting his baby brother and cartman being abducted by aliens and anally probed. Comic genius.
