Most of you who browse the internet on a regular basis are likely to have come across an article or video done by The Onion. In case you’re not familiar with this establishment, it’s a satirical news website and newspaper that commonly follows current events but has many branches that poke fun at stereotypes and traits of American culture. The videos and articles on the website are written and acted out as if they are true so the unknowing visitor could be shocked to find that it is indeed not true.
I am clearly of fan of this website because I chose to write about it but I could see people being seriously offended by some of the content on the website. Do you think that even as an entertainment organization that they should not cross certain lines or do you think that they have the freedom to say what they like even if it could cause harm?

ummm.... HILARIOUS PARODY!
To me The Onion is a hilarious parody, but I can see why some people find it blatantly offensive. Those people can complain all they want but there is the First Amendment that protects what The Onion does. I do think there should be a label proclaiming something to the extent of "this is satire" or "this isn't 100% true" etc. for those not able to decipher what is real and what is satire.
