Any 'Idol' Fans Left in the House?
I must admit that I still turn on Fox every Tuesday and Wednesday night at 8/7 central to get my 'American Idol' fix. However, for myself and many others, Season 9 has been quite the disappointment. It suddenly seems like this "talent" competition is more focused on style and appearance, rather than actual vocal ability. And yet, it still manages to take the top 2 spots every week in the TV ratings. Eventually, people are going to have to realize that most of these contestants just don't have what it takes.... My question for you: Can 'Idol' be saved? No matter what, those of us who continue to watch will have to endure what contestants we've been given. And with the show featuring such talented singers as Ke$ha and Orianthi (who can play guitar, but my oh my does she get off-pitch), my faith in the judges being able to choose successful contestants is slowly but surely dwindling. What say you?

I say... that... AI cannot be saved...
its getting old...
Personally, I cannot stand Kara as one of the judges and while I love Ellen, I don't like her for the show either. The talent this season is not unbelievable, but I feel like if the judges stopped trying to make it all about themselves, then they would be able to spend more time letting the audience get to know and get involved with the contestants which would encourage viewers to be more interested.
Alot of the people out there who watch the show (which I don't) probably watch it primarily because they like the drama that the judges can cook up. This in turn takes the emphasis off of the singing abilities of the contestants. Although I do not watch it, I have always respected the idea behind the show, but if singing is being sacrificed for drama, i no longer respect Idol anymore... Canadian Idol is better anyways
It is a big success that this show has made it 9 seasons. With that many seasons of the same thing over and over there is not much that can be done to keep things interesting. It is no wonder that they are losing viewers. I think that it has had a good run, but i think its about time for them to call it quits.
I don't watch the show on a regular basis anymore. It has lasted a long time. I don't really want it to end, because I think it's a good opportunity for singers. However, I don't know how it will last now that the judges are changing every year. & since I heard Simon will be leaving next year?
