iPod Touch Killer?

Creative Labs will be releasing a new MP3 player at some point in the near future. It looks like an iPod Touch, but it is supposed to be much better. Will it take down the Touch?

of course not. No mattter what other companies attempt to do I believe Apple will always grab the attention of more consumers. the iPod touch is already established and people are still buying them. I know I always have peope asking me to borrow mine or saying that they want one.

No people who are Apple fans are always going to to buy Apple products plain and simple. Plus I'm sure as I'm sitting hear Apple has already created something that will more than trump this. Although this is impressive the argument that people are even continuing to buy a big iPod that doesn't make calls is very relavant. It's not really something anyone can't get within another device. Yes digital geeks nation wide will have to have one just to have one but Apple will continue to reign I'm sure.

I agree with the other two posts. Apple with always be better and more attention grabbing. Most people already have Ipods and are attached to the ones they have. I do not believe any other company can really compete. But then again, I may be a little biased.

I don't really know. I'm a little torn. It looks just like the iphone with slightly different operation commands. I don't know enough about technology to understand if it's more advanced in any way but it looked legit. And can anyone tell me if this is the Verizon's Droid from those new commercials??

Nothing will be able to take down the iPod. Dozens of times it has been said that a phone will take down the iPhone. Still, the iPhone remains on top. No one has been able create an mp3 player with the success of the iPod, because every mp3 player does not have the Apple logo on it. The logo is what is selling the iPods. Also, Apple has created an amazing media player for computers, iTunes. Apple's empire will continue to hold strong.

I am gonna have to go ahead and agree with the majority here. Apple's stronghold on consumers will continue. They will continue to find more ways to have the dominant selling product. I think this looks really cool though.

No...Apple has way too many people (myself included) convinced that they are superior to any and all other competing brands. I think it's much too late for any iPod-competitor to become more popular. People want to buy brands that have credibility rather than brands that they have never heard of before...

As we have seen in the past with the Zune and other MP3 players, Apple will always remain on top. Apple is the brand name that the majority will buy no matter what. I guarantee that Apple will out smart the new competitor with an even better device. There is no doubt about it.

I agree that the original product is always better. Apple fans are very loyal and cannot be bribed to buy something else that only resembles the real thing. I think that Alex's comment about Apple coming out with something better is spot on! Isn't that what consumerism is about?

The thing is, Apple's Marketing strategy is far more advanced and more "eye catching" than any other. Sure, i thing the MP3 player will receive some attention, but nothing will every beat the apple product. The touch will continue to to advance and become better. It will never be replaced.

There have been multiple attempts tocreate an mp3 that was truly competition for the iPod, but they failed and now people can't even remember the names of them. So sen if there is actual competition for the iPod, it will not me simply replaced.

apple is always goin g to outsell everyone else because it is apple. it is as simple as that. theres no way to get around it. it could be 100 times better and apple will still sell more.

Apple has done a fantastic job in securing, at least for a time, it's place atop the technology world. Why? Well compatibility for starters. More and more college students have Macbooks. Who doesn't have iTunes? If iTunes doesn't work on the new Creative mp3 player, and it has issues with the Macbook, the iPhone will continue it's dominance.

This being said, there's nothing that I see in this phone that Apple can't do in their next iPhone, other than open source, and since when was Linux a more popular household name than Windows.

I think that even though they say its better, most average tech-savvy americans wont know the difference between this new device and the ipod touch. In the end it will end up being another competitor to apple products, such as the "Droid" cellphone, and Apple will outlive this company as well.
